Don't Look At Me (Demo)

about

This track is about events that happened at a uni house party between two friends of mine. I found it funny that everyone automatically jumped to the conclusion the guy was definitely guilty based on nothing more than the girls claim that she had been lead astray.

I (alone it seems) found it suspicious that the girl claiming she was intoxicated and had been taken advantage of, had perfect memory of the event and showed little signs of a hangover other than saying she had a head ache. Meanwhile the apparent villain of the piece spent the morning after throwing up in the bath room with no recollection of the nights events.

Anyway the girls reactions were all "men are all like that, they're all arseholes" and they all took to their "rightful" place on the moral high ground.

Two days later a video of the party showed up on facebook with a few very interesting details that the girl couldn't explain, like the fact the video showed her plying him with drinks and then dragging his barely conscious body upstairs.

lyrics

Sun shines through the window on the nights aftermath
Where Drunken procreation met with heightened expectations
You feel like you need to write your own epitaph
She just says that she don't care, you cannot match with her despair

As usual as you rise your head begins to throb
And you make the same old promise that you'll never drink again
Across the rustling sheets you can still hear her sobs
What on earth had she bin thinking, she could not explain

CHORUS
No no don't look at me
Just don't look at me
It's more than just the hangover, the hangover

Why why why can't you see
what you've done to me
It's more than just the hangover, the hangover

She describes in detail just what happened that night
With memory as clear as day, It's for sure that you lead her astray
You have no idea but she just knows that she's right
It really is a rarity for a drunk to have such clarity

And gossip with the girls sorts out just who's to blame
It's obvious from the way you act that you give her no respect
She should have learned by now that men are all the same
They're all bastards, they're all creeps, what more should she expect

CHORUS
No no don't look at me
Just don't look at me
It's more than just the hangover, the hangover

Why why why can't you see
what you've done to me
It's more than just the hangover, the hangover

Video as you know is such a beautiful thing
As evidence of a crime there is so little that compares
The footage shows the party a it's in full swing
And you're the helpless bastard that she's dragging up the stairs

CHORUS (x2)
