This song was partly inspired by my brother telling me I needed to make a song with a more commercial subject. So I wrote this song which could be about a relationship but is actually a sly complaint about a telephone call centre that I was having problems with at the time.
lyrics
Hanging on the line
Bin waiting all this time
Just to talk to you
A question in my mind
That I really need
To say to you
CHORUS
But am I wasting all my time
Should I go find someone else
And even if you answer
Will you ever be able to help
Hanging on the line
Only company the whine
Of the engaged tone
Outside the sun shines
But I'm stuck in here
Strapped to this telephone
CHORUS
But am I wasting all my time
Should I go find someone else
And even if you answer
Will you ever be able to help
How long has it been
Always seems to be like the same scene
repeated over... and over... and over
What's the message mean
How long must I wait
Until it's over... over... over
CHORUS
But am I wasting all my time
Should I go find someone else
And even if you answer
Will you ever be able to help
Hanging on the line
Bin waiting all this time
Just to talk to you
A question in my mind
That I really need
To say to you
I'm gonna keep hanging on the line
I don't care what people say
And even if it seems you can't be mine
I'll still love you anyway
